The International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR), founded in 1919, condemns the US-led
invasion of Iraq. IFOR's world-wide membership believes that conflicts must be resolved
through nonviolent means.
The invasion of Iraq is illegal under international law. It is also unlawful under moral law, and
fails to meet the criteria set by Christian just war theory. This war is a serious threat to world
security and will result only in the deaths of innocent civilians, increased regional instability,
deeper distrust between the Arab and western worlds, and further alienation and discrimination
against Arab minorities inside the Western world.
